It’s written in the stars...and the skyline.

City Editor Bella reporting for duty. Fun fact: I love astrologyalmost as much as I love Kansas City. One of the things I love most about KC is the distinct neighborhoods, districts, and corners of town. They each have their own personalities + purposes — some would say it was written in the stars. So, let’s take a look at how our neighborhoods align with the zodiac signs.

Aries: Westport | March 21-April 19

Known as the passionate + confident leader of the zodiac, Westport’s rich history paves the way for many other neighborhoods. Plus, the exciting nightlife alludes to the fiery personality of this fire sign.

Taurus: Power and Light District | April 20-May 20

As a lover of loyalty, you’ll feel right at home in the Power and Light District — home to many watch parties and KC celebrations. This sign is also known for being dependable + reliable, and you can always count on P&L having lots of things to do, eat, and see.

Gemini: Crossroads Arts District | May 21-June 20

The extroverted nature of a Gemini means they tend to get along with different types of people — similarly to this neighborhood. From lunch spots to unique shops, the Crossroads has something for everyone to enjoy.

Cancer: Brookside | June 21-July 22

The sentimental + gentle nature of this sign is the perfect match for Brookside. Enjoy a classic latte from The Roasterie or sip on a glass of wine at Bella Napoli for all the homey vibes.

Leo: Crown Center | July 23-Aug. 22

Crown Center is a perfect fit for the welcoming + proud nature a Leo embodies. This sign is not afraid to let its presence be known — similar to this neighborhood’s popular tourist spots like the Crown Center Ice Terrace, Coterie Theater, and KC Aquarium.

Virgo: Country Club Plaza | Aug. 23-Sept. 22

This earth sign has very practical + grounded qualities, making the Country Club Plaza a perfect fit. Between the array of dining and shopping options and its long standing traditions — this will leave a Virgo’s busy mind feeling right at home.

Libra: Strawberry Hill | Sept. 23-Oct. 22

Strawberry Hill’s small town yet big city vibe is just as balanced as a Libra. With local bars like Hillsiders, coffee spots like Splitlog, and unique shops like Manor Records — this quirky yet calm part of KC is fitting for this air sign.

Scorpio: West Bottoms | Oct. 23-Nov. 21

The mysterious aura of the West Bottoms perfectly encapsulates this water sign. This slice of town is rich in history and home of some of the best vintage shopping in KC — plus, the nightlife is as discreet + moody as it gets.

Sagittarius: Waldo | Nov. 22-Dec. 21

As an adventure seeker, you’ll be able to take a quick getaway from city life without going too far in Waldo. This sign’s need for constant change and adventure will be fed with its exciting restaurant and bar scene, or a quick jaunt down the Trolley Trail.

Capricorn: River Market | Dec. 22-Jan. 19

Serving as KC’s oldest incorporated district, this is the practical spot for a Capricorn. With how hardworking you are, you’ll be pleased to hear there are plenty of spots to work remotely — like one of Editor Bella’s favorites, City Market Coffee.

Aquarius: West 39th Street | Jan. 20-Feb. 18

The unique bars + bustling businesses embody the eclectic nature of an Aquarius. This stretch of street may seem small, but it is big in personality. We recommend hitting up Boomerang for vintage shopping, followed by a sweet treat at Yum.

Pisces: Westside | Feb. 19-March 20

Being an introvert, this sign needs a quaint spot to recharge the social battery. This neighborhood provides the perfect escapist moment for a Pisces to relax — preferably with a delicious meal at Blue Bird Bistro or at KC’s oldest park.
