Architects assemble. The Nelson-Atkins Museum of Art is gearing up for a ~61,000-sqft, ~$170 million expansion — which may include a photography center, black box theater, indoor/outdoor restaurant, and extra gallery space — and it wants your input.
After sorting through ~200 design proposals last fall, six top-tier proposals made the final cut:
These visionary designs are now on display through May in the museum’s latest exhibit, “Building Belonging: Designing the Future of the Nelson-Atkins.” Explore them online or in person — and don’t forget to submit your feedback by Sunday, March 30, before the final decision drops this spring.
