Hi, we’re KCtoday, and we like to party. If you’re looking for a way this weekend to support local, try something new, or even just get out, you’ve got options.

Three businesses are having grand openings this Friday + Saturday. Don’t worry, you can make all of them.

This Latin American café recently expanded from Westport into the Crossroadsat 110 Southwest Blvd. Specializing in traditional baked goods + coffee drinks, this shop also serves a rare drink called yerba mate, which is like a strong tea with four times the caffeine. Está muy bien.

Their grand opening will feature young artists from the Latino Arts Foundation. There will also be a ribbon cutting with the Hispanic Chamber of Commerce of Greater Kansas City. Watch Café Corazón’s Instagram for updates.

The concept is one of only five other cantinas across the country, serving signature drinks alongside the usual Taco Bell menu items. The walls are covered in KC-themed sports muralsof course the logos were replaced by Taco Bell signs.
