Hi, we’re KCtoday, and we like to party. If you’re looking for a way this weekend to support local, try something new, or even just get out, you’ve got options.
Three businesses are having grand openings this Friday + Saturday. Don’t worry, you can make all of them.
Café Corazón | Fri., March 4
This Latin American café recently expanded from Westport into the Crossroads — at 110 Southwest Blvd. Specializing in traditional baked goods + coffee drinks, this shop also serves a rare drink called yerba mate, which is like a strong tea with four times the caffeine. Está muy bien.
Their grand opening will feature young artists from the Latino Arts Foundation. There will also be a ribbon cutting with the Hispanic Chamber of Commerce of Greater Kansas City. Watch Café Corazón’s Instagram for updates.
Taco Bell Cantina | Fri., March 4
KC’s first Taco Bell Cantina — at 4111 Broadway Blvd. — is open with a party planned for this Friday from 6-9 p.m. Music will be provided by Kansas City’s DJ Hydan with appearances by Mac the Maverick + local celebrity athletes.
The concept is one of only five other cantinas across the country, serving signature drinks alongside the usual Taco Bell menu items. The walls are covered in KC-themed sports murals — of course the logos were replaced by Taco Bell signs.
River Bluff Brewing | Sat., March 5
Cheers to the freakin’ weekend. The long-awaited arrival of River Bluff Brewing is 11 a.m.-11 p.m. this Saturday at the new River Market location — at 201 Main St. Owners will welcome patrons with Kansas City-specific beers. We can’t wait to try the “Market Milk” stout.
The River Market Community Association will also host its meeting at the new brewery on Thurs., March 10. Residents are invited to attend board business + a networking social hour afterward.
