For some, Thanksgiving is the time to break out their inner Food Network star. For others, not so much. No shame in the take-out game.

Whether you want to have the home-style vibe without the prep, or you would rather enjoy a night on the town, these local eateries are ready for turkey time.

Put in a preorder

Acre, 6325 Lewis St., Parkville, MO | This modern Midwestern restaurant knows a thing or two about hospitality, and will have items like blistered green beans, house-made rolls, and pumpkin Basque cheesecake for pickup with cooking and reheating instructions.

The Prospect KC, 11 E 40th St. | Support The Prospect KC’s fight against food insecurity while enjoying Cajun-spiced roast turkey breast, smoked gouda mac and cheese, sweet potato white chocolate swirl cheesecake, and other holiday offerings available to order by Monday, Nov. 18.

Stroud’s, multiple locations | There’s a waitlist for the in-house buffet, but you can still score its $99 carryout package featuring all the beloved classics, plus its world-famous cinnamon rolls.

French Market, 6943 Tomahawk Rd., Prairie Village | Its “Meal for Two” deal is hard to beat, with sliced turkey breast, sage-celery stuffing, french green beans, and cranberry-orange compote ready to reheat alongside à la carte dessert tarts.

Hemma Hemma, 7122 Wornall Rd. | We’re not saying you could preorder its hard cider turkey gravy, sage sausage stuffing, or Thai curry coconut sweet potatoes, and tell your friends you spent all morning in the kitchen — but you could.

Dine in, day-of

Affäre, 1911 Main St. | This German farm-to-table will offer both their take on a classic turkey dinner, plus a special four-course menu for dine-in — with options like roasted angus striploin with peppercorn demi glaze and celery root-pear soup.

Lazia, 2101 Central St. | On Thanksgiving Day, Lazia is offering a unique menu for those looking for non-traditional ways to celebrate the holiday. The special menu honors the restaurant’s Italian roots with an American twist, offering turkey three ways with wine pairings available.

Lidia’s, 101 W. 22nd St., | Enjoy this annual feast tradition 11a.m.-4 p.m. on Thanksgiving Day. The four-course menu includes wild mushroom arancini, your choice of entrees like ricotta-herb manicotti and beef short rib, plus dessert.

A little bit of both

Summit Grill, multiple locations | The Gladstone, Lee’s Summit, and Waldo locations will be open 11 a.m.-4 p.m. on Thanksgiving Day with a traditional turkey dinner. Want to host at home? Check out the Thanksgiving Family Pack that feeds four to six — including a brown sugar glazed ham + slow roasted turkey. Call to pre-order by Monday, Nov. 25 at 5 p.m.

Third Street Social, multiple locations | All three locations will be open 11 a.m.-4 p.m. on Thanksgiving Day with a special holiday menu — we recommend the pork belly burnt ends. A pre-order takeout meal will be available for pickup. Call to pre-order by Monday, Nov. 25 at 5 p.m.

Cliff’s Taphouse, 3044 Gillham Rd. | Build your turkey dinner à la carte for pick-up or stop by for its expanded menu 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. day-of — though we think the real star of the show is its annual Vegan Thanksgiving Wine Dinner on Monday Nov. 18.
