After an HVAC malfunction caused water damages in January, the Kansas City Museum’s Corinthian Hall is opening back up to the public on Thursday, July 6.
The Kansas City Museum Foundation, City of KCMO, and JE Dunn Construction quickly began damage restorations + HVAC repairs — necessary for precise temperature and humidity control for the preservation of artifacts and historic buildings on the property. No damage was done to collection materials and repairs have been made to the ceilings, floors, and electrical + mechanical systems.
The Kansas City Museum is located at 3218 Gladstone Blvd., KCMO in the Historic Northeast neighborhood. The museum is comprised of five original buildings, including the mansion, Corinthian Hall, built in 1910 by Robert Alexander Long. The estate became a public museum in 1940. The museum strives to preserve, interpret, and celebrate KC through collections, exhibitions, and programs that engage visitors in unfolding stories about the city’s vibrant history, cultural heritage, and pride.
