Go shawty, it’s our birthday. We gonna party like it’s our birthday. KCtoday is officially three years old and we’re celebrating by supporting local — the same M.O. as always — just this time with a birthday hat, cake, and candles.

If you want to party like KCtoday, here are some spots you should add to your birthday tour.

Noka | 334 E. 31st St., KCMO | Enjoy conversational seating at this Japanese-inspired local restaurant. Pro tip: If your birthday falls on a weekend, RSVP for The Chef’s Counter, where you can get an up close look at the cooking process + chat with the chefs.

Sushi Kodawari |2100 Central St., KCMO | Perfect for you and a few friends if you’re looking for a more intimate evening, this new omakase-style restaurant only seats eight a night – so make sure to plan far in advance.

Where to eat your birthday dessert

IceCream BAE | Multiple locations | This local ice cream shop features cones ready for the ‘gram that taste just as good as they look.

Two hands holding cups of soft-serve ice cream from Ice Cream Bae. One cup has purple swirled ice cream topped with Fruity Pebbles cereal and pink cookie sticks, while the other features vanilla soft-serve covered in mini chocolate chips, a toasted marshmallow, and a cookie.

There may be no cherry on top, but there is a flambéed marshmellow.
