The KC metro’s five fastest growing cities by population

Over the last five years, some cities in the metro have grown as much as 39% in population, according to the Kansas City Business Journal.

The Kansas City Business Journal identified the fastest growing cities in the metro based on data from the US Census Bureau.

Measured as percent population growth over the last five years, the front-runner is — drumroll please...

Spring Hill. Dubbed the “hottest little town in East Kansas” (in 1898), the town’s population increased 39.59% in the last five years, and 7.92% in just the last year.

Behind Spring Hill, we have:

  • Basehor at 25.15%
  • Peculiar at 16.55%
  • Graom Valley at 15.67%
