It’s the little things

“I used to think I just couldn’t do candles since Bath and Body Works or Target candles always gave me headaches. Then I received an Effing Candle Co. as a gift and I’ve never had any issues. I now have a small collection of like 10 of her candle scents that I regularly burn.” — @raaRach

A parking spot right next to my apartment.” — @Electronic_List8860

Oh boy, do we feel you there...

“The drop off service at Walnut Place Laundromat. They raised the price to $1.75 per pound, but it’s still something I’ll pay for. Been going for years, they’ve always had excellent service and have never ruined my clothes.” — @feral_housekat

I know you can get it elsewhere, but Indigo Wild Zum soap from the factory is one of my favorite KC things to do/buy.” — @slinkc

TIL: You can refill empty jugs and try exclusive products before they hit shelves at the Zum Factory Store.

Tasty treat, anyone?

“I had my first experience with [Christopher Elbow] chocolate last weekend. My wife and I did the drink tasting at the Mercury Room and it finished off with chocolate from Christopher Elbow. I nearly passed out it was so damn good.” — @RCJHGBR9989

Relatable. Now for them to revive Glacé.

“KC has a lot of top tier bakeries (Blackhole, McClain’s, Banksia, Ibis, Dolce), and it’s absolutely worth the cost rather than getting bread or a sweet from the grocery store/Costco/etc.” — @IlsasAmericanCafe

“Berry Nutty Farm jam. They’re $12 a jar, but it’s the best jam I’ve ever had. Not an exaggeration how life changing it has been for me.” — @Jokuki

“The Roasterie K-Cups are worth whatever they charge! Shut up and take my money!! 💴" — @NeitherEntrepreneur3

Or go for broke with a bag of beans.

Bichelmeyer Meats. I get their meat bundles once a quarter and keep my freezer well stocked with quality beef and pork. I’m also quite fond of its sausages and brats. Great for grilling.” — @Luigi182

Spanish Gardens taco sauce. Nothing else even comes close.” — @Zerunull

Priceless experiences

“Going to Chiefs games now that they’re good. Back in the early Alex Smith days, you could buy tickets 8 rows from the field the morning of a game for 60 bucks or less...” — @Brilliant-Tune-9202

‘VIP’ seating at Knuckleheads.” — @brianfos

“Nelson Atkins Friends of Art membership. The museum is free to the public, but I love having member access to its parking garage, 10% off at the Museum Store, Rozzelle Court, and Thou Mayest Coffee Roasters, as well as free admission to its featured exhibitions.” — @EudaimoniaMe

Woodside Gym Membership. $150 is expensive but the amenities are amazing and unmatched in the city.” — @kcpolitico

“Seats close to the stage at Starlight during summer Broadway shows. You get some A/C coming off the stage, which is necessary when it’s 95 degrees and humid. Plus, great seats!” — @psychopathicduk

“Membership at a cigar lounge. I live in a condo downtown and don’t have any outdoor space. Being able to go to a comfortable, quiet lounge is a nice treat after a long day. It’s also a great ‘third place’ which is something that we’re losing in society.” — @InactiveBeef

Petition to change our nickname from the Heartland to the “Land of Little Luxuries.” That’s got a nice ring, no?
