New renderings of the KC Wheel and its companion attractions

While the KC Wheel is getting the most attention, it’s just one of several attractions in its district. Here’s a first look at its mini golf course, and outdoor bar.

The wheel of facts

It’s wheely happening. The KC Wheel has officially announced it’s opening this November. That announcement included another surprise — new renderings of surrounding attractions. Let’s take a closer look.

Perusing the pics

Renderings show a colorful ticket booth next to an outdoor bar aptly named “The Wheel House,” which will offer street food + drinks. We also see the Pennway Putt mini golf course with its 16 holes.

We’re betting it will be as fun as it looks.

The KC Wheel will be $17 for adults, $12 for kids. Prices for its companion attractions haven’t been released, but we do know that the total space will span six acres; and the KC Wheel will be 50 meters tall + have 36 enclosed, climate-controlled gondolas (with one VIP gondola). Each will reach 150 ft.

Four more districts

The KC Wheel district is one of five in Pennway Point — the soon-to-be entertainment destination at 2500 Pennway Blvd., KCMO. It’s scheduled to fully open in spring of 2024.

Here are the others :

Barrell Hall
At the center of Pennway Point, this food hall will:

  • Be 6,000 sqft
  • Seat 200+ people
  • Host four eateries

Tailgating Zone
You can’t build an entertainment district without a sports section — not in KC anyways. It will host:

  • Two outdoor stages
  • Restaurants
  • A winter ice skating rink
  • Private suites

Beef & Bottle Steakhouse
Think of this restaurant as the adults-only district. Grown ups can groove with:

  • The Funk House, an elevated sports bar
  • Cocktails
  • Elevated burgers + premium steaks

Neon Alley
Yes, it’s exactly what it sounds like. It will:

Imagining more

What if Pennway Point added more attractions?

If they did, Editor Charmaine votes for a dog park. That section of town is lacking a dog space, and a KC-themed puppy play area would make for a howling good time.

What else would be a great addition? Let us know and you may be featured in a future newsletter.
