It’s Valentine’s Day, and we’re professing our love. We’re not talking about romantic love — though if you need a last-minute date idea, here you go.

We’re expressing our affection for Kansas City. If you’re familiar with love languages, consider these our words of affirmation for the city we call home.

City Editor Travis

The first time KC caught my eye, I was at Mizzou. Where I’m from, people used to talk about getting out. Instead, my college friends from KC talked about how they couldn’t wait to get back. It amazes me how much the residents here love local, and it’s easy to be attracted to that kind of self-love. Afterall, our city’s logo is shaped like a heart.

Multi-city Editor Dayten

I was born + raised in the Northland (by Zona Rosa), but I actually moved away for school. That’s when the KC pride kicked in, and I knew I’d come back. I love city life, but don’t want to sacrifice the camaraderie of Heartland livingand the food is A++.

Intern Grace

I love KC for so many reasons, but probably the biggest is the community. The way that Kansas Citians unite together, from sports to social causes, really shows the spirit of the city and the people who call it home. There’s a special energy here that you don’t find in most places.

Sales Executive Amanda

My love for this amazing city seems to grow more and more by the day. Never have I been in a town were the genuine kindness is only matched by the pride that flows from our community. Kansas City loves Kansas City… and I love that this is my home ❤️
