It’s Thanksgiving, so it’s time to start celebrating Christmas, right? No matter where you stand on the debate — I, Travis, am a post-feast decorator + music listener — Union Station is ready to herald in the holiday season. Its Holiday Reflections walk-thru village opens Fri., Nov. 26. Here’s what you need to know.

The theme

This display really takes the “reflections” part to heart. Floating ornaments act as spherical mirrors. Light displays glint off of glassy surfaces and polished floors. Plus, a new section exhibits window scenes with views into seasonal animated displays. Not to mention, dozens of lit up Christmas trees. Time for a selfie.

For the kids

Rudy’s Wonderland is bigger than ever, featuring the Mini Holiday Express Train. Kids under 48 inches can climb aboard and soak up the magic. Also, the Holiday Model Rail Exhibit expanded into Holiday Reflections, now boasting 800 ft of track + 18 consecutively-running trainsfor the young and young at heart.

Tickets + times

  • $5 to enter ($8 on weekends for non-members)
  • $5 more for a child’s train ticket (free for members)
  • Free for 12 months and younger
  • 10 a.m.-8 p.m.

Entry tickets are good for up to 60 minutes. Hourly capacities will be limited, so Union Station encourages reserving a date + time by purchasing tickets online. Walk-up tickets will only be available if capacity allows. Private events may occasionally close the exhibit, and you can check for updates on the station’s Facebook page. FYI: some times have already sold out.
