There’s more than one new season coming to Starlight Theatre next year.

After more than nine years as President + CEO of the Starlight Theatre Association of Kansas City, Inc., Rich Baker has announced his retirement effective Mar. 31, 2023. He will stay on as a programming consultant through 2025.

Lindsey Rood-Clifford, Starlight’s current COO and Vice President of Philanthropy, has been named Baker’s successor. This will make her the first woman president in the theater’s history.

“Lindsey has demonstrated excellence at Starlight and understands the institution and has a long-standing commitment to Kansas City and the arts community,” said Baker.

Lindsey is credited with increasing Starlight’s philanthropic revenue by 50% + tripling the size of the organization’s fundraising team. She also launched its first multi-million dollar fundraising campaign in almost 20 years.
