Now that you’re back from lazing by the lake, we’ve got some serious catching up to do. First, your tan looks great, and second, there were three major plays in this sports city over the holiday weekend:

  1. KC Current’s record-breaking no-loss streak ended Saturday, July 6 against the Orlando Pride. Before the final 2-1 tally at CPKC Stadium, the Current’s record stood at 10-5-0. Tickets for both the inaugural Summer Cup + Women’s Cup are on sale now.
  2. The MLB All-Star Game will feature four Royals on the American League team: Salvador Perez, Bobby Witt Jr., Seth Lugo + Cole Ragans. This is the most Royals named to the All-Star team since 2016, and Perez’s ninth All-Star appearance alone. Watch it Tuesday, July 16 on FOX, or grab a seat at Globe Life Field for $300.
  3. Kansas City makes it to France. Two Sporting KC players — defender Jake Davis + goalkeeper John Pulskamp — have been called up to the US Men’s Olympic Soccer Team as alternates. Their first game is against host country France on Wednesday, July 24.
