The house hunting chapter of the Royals’ stadium story is finally coming to a close.

At a 2:30 p.m. press conference at Kauffman Stadium, the team announced the vacant KC Star printing pavilion would be the central plot of its new ~18-acre ballpark.

Renderings showcasing the new development were also shared.

The team had been considering two additional sites:

  • East Village downtown
  • A spot in North Kansas City

Independence city officials recently reached out to the team asking them to consider Independence Center as an option, too.

This decision hinges on the approval of the 3/8th-cent sales tax which will be included on the April ballot.
