Event Spotlight
Those look like the smiles of soon-to-be champions.
KC soccer fans, clear your calendars — the first-ever Teal Rising Cup lands at CPKC Stadium on Saturday, July 12 + Tuesday, July 15, bringing powerhouse Brazilian teams Corinthians SC and Palmeiras to town alongside our own KC Current and Chicago Stars FC.
Considering Kansas City’s knack for hot + muggy summers, we recommend snagging seats in the west-side lower bowl for prime views and sweet afternoon shade. (Fair warning: most of the local eats — think Yoli Tortilleria + Billie’s Grocery — are on the east side, so prep for a halftime hike.)
Don’t miss your chance to see world-class women’s soccer on KC’s home turf; tickets start at $31.

Which two cities did the region’s first horse-drawn streetcar connect?
61% of you nailed it — Kansas City and Westport were linked by the region’s first commuter rail... of the four-legged variety. Starting in the 1870s, the ~two-hour mule-drawn trek connected the then-separate towns. As for the 26% who guessed KC + Independence? That’s a neigh from us.
