Boulevardia’s beats just dropped 🎶

Hot tunes, cold beer, and not a bit of snow in sight. Boulevardia, Kansas City’s biggest annual block party-meets-music fest, will be back for one day only on Saturday, June 14 — and it just dropped the lineup.

Headlining the fest will be hometown heroes, rapper Tech N9ne (who was recently pegged to create KC’s World Cup theme song) and indie darlings The Greeting Committee. Breakout star + MO native honestav rounds out the top billed names, joining 40+ other artists (including The Phantastics, Back Alley Brass Band, and Hembree) bringing a range of genre-defying summer anthems to local fest-goers.

Snag GA for just $35 before ticket prices jump to $45 in June. Want to feel like KC royalty? Purchase VIP admission for $100 and get two beer tickets, access to a cooling lounge, prime views of the main stage, and private restrooms included.

Information on Taps & Tastes, as well as this year’s Makers Market vendors, have yet to be released — but when they do, we’ll be the first to let you know.

City Guide

Make flying plane and simple ✈️

Photo of concourse connector at KCI
There are a few things to know before you’re hurtling along the moving walkways. | Photo by KCtoday
Traveling by plane is fun, but he whole navigating the airport part? Less exciting, and sometimes pretty stressful. We toured the terminal to help make your time at KCI as smooth as possible, and we created this guide that covers everything from parking and gates to food, drink, and nonstop flights.

What to know

  • TSA | Security check times will vary — 16 lanes are centrally located next to the check-in desks. Streamline the process with TSA PreCheck.
  • Map it out | If you’re like us and need to completely visualize a place before you step foot inside, this interactive map will get you started. Think of the shape of the terminal like a big “H” for “home.”
  • Food and drink | Between four coffee roasters, three barbecue options, three craft breweries, two food halls, and other local favorites, this terminal features 50+ food and retail options.
  • Reminder | By May 7, 2025, you will need a REAL ID (or other approved document) to board commercial flights in the US.
Fun fact: KCI’s identifier code is actually MCI, which stands for Mid-Continent International Airport. That’s what it used to be called before the name changed in 1972.

The Buy

The right pet insurance to offset rising veterinary costs. Clinics are increasingly focused on revenue — and some vets are encouraged to squeeze in more appointments, recommend extra tests, and upsell services. The result? Higher vet bills for you. The Wrap

Madison-McMillen.png
As part of my pitch for The Pitch’s Four Inane Questions series, I asked you all what out-of-town item — restaurant, landmark, etc. — you’d transplant to KC. Reader Lauren S. answered: “Honestly, I love St. Louis’ Forest Park. I think having it in Kansas City would be amazing!” And after seeing those waterfront walkways, we couldn’t agree more.
