A $119.8 million budget has been approved for the demolition + replacement of the Barney Allis Plaza garage. The proposed revision for the downtown green space includes multiple lawns, a dog park, and two event plazas that could accommodate pop-ups and food trucks. (Kansas City Business Journal)

It’s a home run for local fashion designer Whitney Manney, whose three-look streetwear collab with the Royals debuted opening weekend. Three sweepstakes winners will get to pick one outfit each with a custom fitting session. (Startland News)

Alt rock superstars Smashing Pumpkins were set to skip over KC on their national 2024 tour — until now. The band added a dozen new stops, including a night at KC’s Starlight Theatre on Friday, Aug. 16. Ticket sales begin Friday, April 5.

The owner of recently closed Guy’s Broadway Bodega is back with a new offering: Caldwell’s Burgers. The new joint plans to open inside the River Market’s River Bluff Brewing and will offer a selection of burgers, beer, sliders, soft pretzels and nachos. (Kansas City Star)

Mission’s Wee Create is painting a new picture with a move to Prairie Village (4030 W. 83rd St.). The local art studio will continue catering to young artists and families, this time offering its classes at a larger space in Corinth Square. (Johnson County Post)
