KC is getting greener. The Kansas City region was awarded $4.7 million by Renew America’s Nonprofits to aid nonprofits with energy efficiency. Mid-America Regional Council (MARC) will distribute the funds over three years for improvement projects like energy-efficiency upgrades, HVAC replacements, and installing smart thermostats.

Driving through a winter wonderland. Winter Magic Cliff Drive returns for the season this Thursday, Nov. 2-Sunday, Dec. 31, 6-11 p.m. at 1800 Cliff Dr., KCMO. This year, the light show will also feature a bike ride-through option on Sunday, Nov. 5 at 5:30 p.m. Tickets start at $25 per car and $10 per biker.

‘80s kids stand up. New Kids on The Block is stopping at Starlight Theatre for the “2024 Magic Summer Tour” on Tuesday, June 25, 2024 at 7 p.m. Paula Abdul and DJ Jazzy Jeff will perform alongside the boy band. Ticket sales open this Friday, Nov. 3 at 10 a.m.
Cause
The National WWI Museum and Memorial is debuting an upgraded main gallery — just in time for Veterans Day weekend (Friday, Nov. 10-Sunday, Nov. 12). Upgrades include an interactive map and four new touch tables. Plus, during Veterans Day weekend, all veterans + active-duty military can view the museum at half-price.
Development
Shawnee Town 1929 is seeking $11 million for improvements. Planned upgrades include a new visitor center, chapel, and four new town buildings. The museum intends to raise $5 million from private donors and $6 million from the City of Shawnee over the course of ~3 years. (Shawnee Mission Post)

The KC Mavericks are ice cold. The team secured three wins last week, marking its first 5-0 start in a decade. Their next games are this Friday, Nov. 3 and Saturday, Nov. 4. Tickets start at $21.

KC Current adds a second restaurant to the CPKC stadium

Eat healthy and cheer on. Billie’s Grocery is now the second restaurant confirmed for the KC Current’s new stadium. The first was Joe’s Kansas City Bar-B-Que.
Owned by nutritional therapist practitioner Robin Krause, the local biz specializes in organic whole eats and treats.
Its CPKC stadium spot will be located near section 128 and will serve signature sesame chicken salad with gluten-free chicken — plus, a KC Current inspired bowl comprised of teal rice + toppings.
But that’s not all. The KC Current is asking fans to keep your eyes on the ball as “Teal Tuesdays” will be full of announcements about the stadium’s future food + beverage experiences.
