A guide to the Kansas City Chiefs’ 2025 NFL season
Calling all Chiefs fans.
Chiefs Kingdom, grab your red and gold gear — football season is back. Let’s dive into all things game day before the Chiefs’ first game on Thursday, Sept. 7.
What everyone’s talking about
The Chiefs are the talk of the town heading into the new season as the reigning Super Bowl LVII champions. Plus, Patrick Mahomes’ off-season endeavors as an on-screen star in Netflix’s “Quarterback” has fed the 2022-2023 season hype.
On the field, the red and gold may look a little different. Stars like Travis Kelce, Jerick McKinnon, and Isiah Pacheco are back in business, but there are plenty of rookies running through the tunnel on Thursday. Here’s who we’re keeping an eye on:
Felix Anudike-Uzomah, defensive end
Rashee Rice, wide receiver
Keondre Coburn, defensive tackle
Deneric Prince, running back
Chiefs Kingdom should not expect veteran Chris Jones to play the start of this season due to negotiation conflicts.

The US Coffee Championship preliminary competitions are on the KC grind.
This nationally recognized, coffee-centered competition series is making its way to Kansas City this fall, Friday, Sept. 29-Sunday, Oct. 1. KC is one of 12 locations across the country chosen for next year’s prelim stage.
Messenger Coffee and The Roasterie are teaming up to host three categories of competition: Brewers Cup, Roaster, and Coffee in Good Spirit:
Brewers Cup highlights the art of manually brewing.
Roaster asks competitors to green grade a compulsory coffee, make a roast plan, and roast the compulsory coffee on-site.
Coffee in Good Spirit must prepare + serve coffee cocktails for taste judges.
The US Coffee Championship (USCC) is held to celebrate the passion for coffee competitions, empowering local communities to organize and host official USCC events.
The City of Fountains was chosen after an application and review process led by the SCA USA Chapter and US Competitions Committees.
