The US Coffee Championship preliminary competitions are on the KC grind.

This nationally recognized, coffee-centered competition series is making its way to Kansas City this fall, Friday, Sept. 29-Sunday, Oct. 1. KC is one of 12 locations across the country chosen for next year’s prelim stage.

Messenger Coffee and The Roasterie are teaming up to host three categories of competition: Brewers Cup, Roaster, and Coffee in Good Spirit:

  • Brewers Cup highlights the art of manually brewing.
  • Roaster asks competitors to green grade a compulsory coffee, make a roast plan, and roast the compulsory coffee on-site.
  • Coffee in Good Spirit must prepare + serve coffee cocktails for taste judges.

The US Coffee Championship (USCC) is held to celebrate the passion for coffee competitions, empowering local communities to organize and host official USCC events.
The City of Fountains was chosen after an application and review process led by the SCA USA Chapter and US Competitions Committees.

Get involved in the competition + stay tuned for local updates.
