Q: Describe your perfect day in Kansas City in the length of a Tweet (280 characters).
A: I enjoy freshly brewed tea before playing tennis at Roanoke Park. Next, I barge into Prospero’s Books to fuel my book hoarding habit. Then, it’s retro gaming at Up-Down. Afterwards, my husband and I picnic at a park while the KC Symphony plays from their mobile music box.
Q: You’re ordering a drink from a Kansas City-coffee shop/bar: What’s in it?
A: I’m most likely at Cafe Cà Phê ordering a Refresh T’Death tea. It’s a chamomile tea + lemonade mixture livened with hibiscus, mango, apple, and lychee syrup.
I’m City Editor Bella Rainey. I’ve been with the KCtoday for almost a full year now.

Q: Describe your perfect day in Kansas City in the length of a Tweet (280 characters).
A: I’d start my day with brunch at Westport Cafe before heading to Arizona Trading Company for a bit of retail therapy. After that, I would head over to the Crossroads for a brewery hop before enjoying live music at Grinders.
Q: You’re ordering a drink from a Kansas City-coffee shop/bar: What’s in it?
A: There’s a good chance if I am ordering a drink, it’s a beer. My favorite right now (it changes a lot) is the Chaos Monkey at Casual Animal Brewing Company.
Q: Describe Kansas City’s personality in three words.
A: Lively, united, home.
Now that we’re all BFFs, feel free to send us a message to share news, events + more with us (or just say hello).

Drink
Back at it again. J. Rieger & Co. brought back its Monogram Whiskey for the seventh time — but this year, it looks a little different. This iteration is named Kansas City Whiskey – Solera Reserve. Fun fact: Solera is a type of maturation process, commonly used in the aging of sherry.

It’s “The Jungle Book”IRL. Thorni Ridge Exotics is bringing the herd to West Wyandotte Library — including a baby spider monkey, pig, goat, sheep, and a kangaroo — tonight from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m.
The exotic baby animal petting zoo is the latest in the imaginative, free event series provided by the Kansas City, Kansas Public Library.
“We consider what the kids are interested in, and then we try to create programs. Whenever we can, we try to bring in literacy and education,” said West Wyandotte Library youth services supervisor Melissa Sadrakula.
“We encourage families and people of all ages to come in. I think a lot of people don’t realize the great resources we have — and that they’re no cost.”
KCKPL’s summer series has recurring events for the whole family, including Switch Saturdays for playing Nintendo Switch games, and Mini Golf Fridays.

This big kid is going to be the first in line to hold a baby kangaroo tonight. Don’t be shocked if you see me on Instagram crying due to its overwhelming cuteness.
