Early fall beer releases in Kansas City

Plus, Sausage Fest and Pickle Fest.

Fall is on its way, and the anticipation of Oktoberfest + football season means lots of new seasonal beers.

We know that KC has a rich craft beer scene, and breweries are pulling out all the hops as we slip further into September. Here’s what’s happening this weekend. Plus, get ready for recently released (and incoming) brews:

Torn Label Brewing Co., 1708 Campbell St, KCMO
We love a good Sausage Fest, now in its second year. On Sat., Sept. 10, the brewery will feature a new beer — Festbier. Plus, Chef Vince Brink is cooking up three special sausages, which you can read about in the announcement post (we can’t wait to try the Waldviertler).

Callsign Brewing, 1340 Burlington St., North Kansas City, MO
This popular veteran-founded brewery just released 178: Vienna Lager, and $1 from every beer will be donated to KC Pet Project.

Pathlight Brewing, 1200 W. 75th St., Shawnee, KS
Therese is a hefeweizen named after the Bavarian queen whose marriage party to King Ludwig became the first Oktoberfest celebration.

Servaes Brewing Co., 10921 Johnson Dr., Shawnee, KS
What do pickles and beer have in common? Um, a lot apparently? Especially if you go to Servaes’ Pickle Party on Sat., Sept. 10 celebrating the release of four new beers. Also released today (Fri., Sept. 9): the Chief Mahomes Sour.

Crane Brewing Company, 6515 Railroad St, Raytown, MO
Join the tailgate tonight at 5 p.m. as Crane releases Chiefs Kingdom! (benefiting 15 and the Mahomies) and Beet Weiss.
