Make movement a priority. Kansas City, Missouri Parks + Jackson County Parks and Recreation have partnered on a series of events encouraging everyone to walk, ride, or run a different trail on Sundays in October. Here’s what you need to know about participating in Walktober.

When

  • Sun., Oct. 2 | 12–2 p.m. | Riverfront Heritage Trail, 2050 W. Pennway St., Kansas City, MO
  • Sun., Oct. 9 | 12–2 p.m. | Cave Spring Trail, 8701 E. Gregory Blvd., Raytown, MO
  • Sun., Oct.16 | 12–2 p.m. | Brush Creek Trail, Dr. MLK Boulevard + Woodland Avenue
  • Sun., Oct. 23 | 12–2 p.m. | Little Blue Trace Trail, 20140 E. Jackson Dr., Independence, MO

Need to know

  • All events are free and open to the public. Pre-register here.
  • Dogs on leashes are welcome.
  • Commemorative Walktober buttons are available to the first 200 participants per location.
  • Earn a free patch per event by posting on social media + tagging @kcmoparks, @jacksoncountyparks, and @takeahikekc.
