How hot will summer be in Kansas City this year?

It’s getting hot in here. After hitting triple digits just seven days into summer, you’re probably wondering what the rest of the season has in store. Don’t sweat it, we found out for you.

High temps + humidity

As summer temperatures swell, Farmer’s Almanac predicts we’ll see plenty of showers, too. Next week will hover around the high 80s + low 90s, with a few chances of rain seeping through. That’s ~10º hotter than averages from past trends. Slightly above average temperatures are consistent over the next three months, according to the National Weather Service.

As for relative humidity, it averages ∼66% in July — a trend that carries on through September.

  • The hottest summer day recorded for KC was August 13, 1936 when temperatures reached a sweltering 113º.
  • KC has only reached 100º on 81 out of the 136 years on record.
  • On average, KC only has three 100º days a year.
