There’s a block of Kansas City where the brunch bar scene and late night revelers collide in delicious harmony. Martini Corner, found at the intersection of 31st and Gillham, is a can’t miss destination for local foodies — featuring spots like Barrio Taqueria, Cliff’s Taphouse, NOKA — and now, newcomer Orange By: Devoured.

The pandemic project-turned-pop-up has long served “eclectic pizza combinations” + snack-adjacent treats (i.e. pizza pockets and cinnamon sticks), but this latest venture aims to expand its offerings with shareable tapas. Previewed for this weekend already is the spot’s intricately plated smoked salmon toast.

It seems that Orange By: Devoured, with its retro-inspired decor, bright color-blocking, and casual atmosphere, is filling a never-knew-we-needed role for the neighborhood — a quality spot for quick bites (and even more Instagramable photo ops).

Can’t wait to stop by the neighborhood pizza shop? First, feast your eyes on its feature in Hulu’s Best in Dough series, episode 5. Second, come hungry to its grand opening at 325 E. 31st St. this Thursday, Aug. 15 from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. for the lunch crowd + 5:30 p.m. to 12 a.m. for any late night cravings.
