Wait a minute, didn’t we already talk about Mattel Adventure Park?

Yep, we sure did — but Destination KCK, Bonner Spring’s newly announced entertainment hotspot, is set to include more than just a Barbie Dreamhouse.

The 180-acre project envisions a year-round vacation (or staycation) experience located nearby the Village West development.

Here’s a highlight reel of what’s to come:

  • Mattel Adventure Park and other attractions like a fly + dive theater, boat excursions, zip lines, and an ice-skating rink
  • All-season Christmas Village
  • Six themed waterfront restaurants
  • Three lakeside hotels, a RV park resort, and 59 cabin and “glamping sites”
  • Two enclosed special events pavilions, located in the center of the lake
  • 34 specialty and experiential retail stores

Sorry to anyone already planning their ultimate family vacation: no timeline for the project has been released. Here at KCtoday, we’re biding our time by asking the important questions: can we ride in the hot air balloon?
