Soon enough it’ll be hot, humid, and you’ll need reminding of why you look forward to summer in the city. Don’t worry, we’ve got a perfect answer: Art in the Loop.

The long-running outdoor arts exhibition is back for its 11th year of sprinkling local creativity along the KC Streetcar loop — and they’ve finally dropped the lineup + schedule.

This year’s theme

Artists were tasked with interpreting the Spanish word “convivencia,” which means ‘coexistence’ or ‘living together.’

Sound familiar? You may have heard it first at one of the Kansas City Public Library’s 150th Anniversary celebrations.

Visual + performance artists

Out of 100+ applications, 22 artist with disciplines in everything from photography and painting to experimental jazz and aerial acrobatics, were selected for the final lineup — including Nasir Montalvo, founder of {B/qKC}.

Check out the full list of Kansas City creatives, and get a sneak peak of the art you’ll see pop up at KC Streetcar stops and on one KC Streetcar vehicle between June and November 2024.
