The River Market is already a popular destination for downtown residents and suburban weekend warriors, but six new developments are adding even more to the area. Let’s take a look:

Fountain City Scoops & Floats, 421 Main St.

Look out, Betty Rae’s. There’s a new ice cream shop on the block — so new, it doesn’t have a website. Fountain City is a homemade ice cream + beverage shop by KC Soda Co. , utilizing its access to thousands of sodas + komucha next door. Manager Cale told KCtoday they hope to open by the end of September.

Enzo , 20 E. 5th Stt.

This incoming bistro and wine bar is a sister restaurant to Ragazza Food & Wine. The Sicilian + Greek concept will take the place of the former Bo Ling’s. Owners Laura and Grant Norris said they were inspired by a trattoria in Rome. The opening is TBD.

Breakout KC , 114 W 3rd St.

The keys to the former Market 3 grocery store are in the hands of a company that locks you inside for fun. Swell Spark , the company behind Breakout KC, is taking over — but the team is “still dreaming up our vision,” manager Julie told KCtoday. Stay tuned for an opening date.

Ting’s Filipino Bistro , 405 Main St.

After much delay , Ting’s is… not yet open. Owners planned for several grand openings , but the restaurant is still waiting for inspections before it can start serving. Friday signs indicated an opening sometime this week.

Block 15 Tavern & Exchange , 311 Delaware St.

The new sports bar + dance club had its grand opening on Fri., Aug. 12. The concept (by the same owners of Tribe Street Kitchen) is located in the basement of the Ebenezer building , complete with an outdoor courtyard.

Ragusa’s Italian Crepe Cafe

You know that empty lot on the corner of Wyandotte + 5th streets? Now you can sink your teeth into Sicily with crepes (sweet or savory), cannolis, and Italian sodas Wednesday-Saturday from 8 a.m.-4 p.m. Editor Travis loved his tiramisu crepe.
