History
There’s a vintage Kansas City trolley traversing San Francisco’s steep streets as we speak. Streetcar No. 1056 is painted in the style of our 1940s-50s PCC trolleys and sporting the “The Scout” on a red heart, Kansas City Public Service’s former logo. Nowadays, it services the F Line which runs through iconic city centers like the Castro, the Financial District, and Fisherman’s Wharf.

The Nelson-Atkins’ 19×15-ft shuttlecocks are about to get a glow-up, one sculpture at a time. With one already restored, the other four begin their makeovers this September marking the first full touch-ups since their 1994 debut. (FOX4)

While Vol. 1 of SpraySeeMO’s annual mural fest wrapped in May, we’re still spotting fresh art hidden in plain sight — like this abstract beauty near T‑Mobile Center. With Vol. 2 set for Monday, Oct. 13-Sunday, Oct. 19, we’re planning on finally updating our KC mural guide and need your eyes on the streets.
Notice any murals on your walks around the city? Do Editor Maddie a solid and send your pics our way — and even better, share your thoughts on the piece so we can include those too.

How much does a single hamburger at Town Topic cost?
It’s a far cry from the 5‑cent burgers Town Topic first served in 1937. Today, a single hamburger will set you back $5.35— a 107% increase from those early diner days.
Only 12% of readers guessed correctly, with most thinking it was cheaper: 40% guessed $4.59, and 34% went even lower at $3.19.
TAP, an app created by two Kansas City locals to meet new friends or a date IRL, aims to facilitate meet-ups in real life — like filling the empty barstool next to you — without an algorithm or endless in‑app chat. Personally, I can already hear my mom yelling “stranger danger,” but for KC newcomers, this could be a fun way to meet people IRL.
What do you think — would you try this blind‑date‑style meet‑up app? Or would you rather strike up a conversation the classic way?
