Three things in life are certain: death, taxes, and apparently, Kansas City’s never-ending stadium saga.
ICYMI, Kansas lawmakers just gave the Chiefs and Royals until Dec. 31, 2025 to lock in a stadium deal covering up to 70% of costs using STAR bonds. That deadline was originally set for the end of June, but both teams asked for more time — and they got it, just weeks after Missouri passed its own stadium incentive plan.
What does that mean for fans? More waitingand what-ifs. Chiefs president Mark Donovan says they’re keeping all options on the table, and Royals owner John Sherman, who hinted at naming a site this summer, has stayed silent.
We did ask you where the Royals should land (not the Crossroads) — and y’all had thoughts. Here’s a sampling:
📍 “Has to be downtown or I don’t really get the point of moving. Let’s leave tailgating to the Chiefs and enjoy the downtown scene before and after games.”
📍 “Legends is perfect — highways, hotels, space to tailgate. What’s not to love?”
📍 “Please not the Sprint campus — too close to hospitals and not built for this.”

Hot off the grill: Q39 and The Golden Scoop teamed up on a Salted Caramel Burnt Ends Ice Cream — it’s served with every Kansas City Strip Steak order this month, with proceeds benefiting the latter biz. Not quite lunch under $10, but definitely a sweet way to support.
Coming Soon-ish
