Movie lovers unite at KC’s largest curated film festival. | Photo via Kansas City FilmFest
We hope you like popcorn. The 29th annual Kansas City FilmFest International kicks off this Thursday, March 27 through Sunday, March 30 at AMC Ward Parkway 14. The juried exhibition of 100+ local and international films is the biggest curated film festival in KC.
Here’s how it works: Look through the film schedule for a title that suits your fancy — that could be an individual film, or a collection of shorts like “Comedy” and “After Dark” — and grab a ticket. Each showing is $10 and takes place at AMC. Meaning, you can roll up to the theater and make a day of it, starting ~5:30 p.m. Thursday and Friday or 12 p.m. on Saturday and Sunday.
Can’t decide? Pick up a Gold Pass for $45 to get all-you-can-watch access to films and entrance into the Filmmakers’ Lounge (so you can rub elbows with your fave cinephiles).

Perhaps I need to pencil in a few Gaelic classes with The Irish Center of Kansas City, which kicks off its spring sesh on Wednesday, April 9th with four levels ranging from total beginner to grammar pro.

56%. That’s how many readers correctly answered “false.” The Royals got their name from Kansas City’s cowtown past, inspired by the American Royal and chosen through a fan contest in 1969.
