New brews on the scene ☕

KCtoday_ASE Coffee
Grandview has a new name in delicious local roasts: ASE. | Photo via ASE Coffee
With temps dipping into the negatives this week, we’re fighting back with a hot cup of joe — or a creamy cold brew for those fabled year-round iced coffee fans.

The City of Fountains has no shortage of masterful baristas, aromatic roasts, and foamy lattes. But if you’re having trouble deciding on a spot, gather some brews clues with a few of KC’s newest coffee shops.
  • ASE Coffee, 1800 Highgrove Rd., Grandview | Share a Fox & Bull Baking Co. pastry with your beau surrounded by luscious deep green walls and trendy retro decor.
  • Bisou, 2122 Jefferson St., Ste. A | Though it’s just making our shortlist, the European-style coffee + wine bar is already a Westside fave known for its chic ambiance and indulgent pastries.
  • Mildred’s, multiple locations | The breakfast of champions, literally. Check out its new South Plaza digs and order Travis Kelce’s go-tos: a chipotle breakfast wrap, cinnamon roll, and cold brew.
  • The Nook, 14 W. 10th St.| Through a partnership with The Prospect KC, the recently revived caffeinated oasis features a literary-themed menu of drinks, cafe fare + bakery items.
