• The Negro Leagues Baseball Museum is moving home base. A new 30,000-sqft space will be built just north of The Paseo YMCA as a part of a 2.8-acre campus. Its new field will also feature a hotel, ~150 apartments + retail shops. A timeline is TBA. (Kansas City Business Journal)

• Two local spots were named to Time’s annual list of the World’s Greatest Places: CPKC stadium and our new children’s literature museum The Rabbit hOle. If you haven’t seen these two spots yet we’d say it’s about time to pay them a visit.

• $25 million. That’s how much money has been donated to KC’s diaper bank, Happy Bottoms, as of this week. The local nonprofit has been dishing out diapers to metro families in need since 2009. Want to do your doody? You can donate once or on a monthly basis. (FOX4)

• Well, only if eating is a sport. To celebrate the Olympics, McLain’s Bakery’s Waldo location (201 E. Gregory Blvd.) is selling cookie cups with gold, silver, and bronze cookie medals buried in a select few. Be lucky enough to find one + you’ll stand on the (imaginary) podium with a gift card.

• How refreshing. Drink Up Week runs through today — our annual celebration of Kansas City’s drink culture. Local businesses are offering buzzy deals like BOGO half off smoothies + energy drinks at Lee’s Summit Nutrition and reverse happy hour at Restless Spirits Distilling, so treat yourself and toast to our town’s vibrant bevvy scene.

• Former KU athletic director Bob Marcum has died at the age of 87. Under his leadership from 1978 to 1982, the department boasted 15 Big Eight Conference titles across six sports. (Kansas City Star)
