💍 Let’s see the ring

Check out the Chiefs rings from Super Bowl LVIII...and LVII, LIV + IV

Last week, the Chiefs revealed their showstopping Super Bowl LVIII rings — which got us thinking: “How do these rings stack up against the bling from LVII, LIV + IV?”

Back-to-back (LVIII)

Let’s start with our latest victory. And can we just say, these specs are pretty wild. The Chiefs’ newest ring features 529 diamonds and 38 rubies with 14.8 total carats (+ a very expensive typo). You’ll have to check out the official page for all of it’s hidden gems, but here’s a few of our favorites:
  • A miniature Arrowhead featuring “142.2,” a tribute to Chiefs Kingdom’s world record as the loudest fans
  • A tribute to the game-winning “Tom + Jerry” play, made in Coach Andy Reid’s handwriting

Third time’s a charm (LVII)

Thought 500+ diamonds was impressive? Try 629 diamonds, 35 rubies, and a whopping 16.1 total carats. And that’s not to mention the personal touches:
  • The ring itself is shaped after a bird’s-eye view of GEHA Field + Arrowhead Stadium
  • Inside features Lamar Hunt’s famous quote: “Arrowhead Stadium is my favorite place on Earth.”

♻️ Get your hands dirty

Get your hands dirty with KC metro compost services

Roeland Park is the latest metro city to team up with a local composting org to form a green dream team.

The process is as simple as: subscribe, stop in, discard scraps + dump. Residents can purchase a $12.99 KC Can Compost subscription and either a five-gallon bucket or countertop container, which they pick up at Roeland Park City Hall. When full of acceptable scraps, the good stuff can get dumped off at a Price Chopper receptacle (4950 Roe Blvd.).

Not an RP resident? Don’t worry, there are plenty of KC-area businesses and nonprofits ready to take food + yard waste off your hands:

I’ll be out for a few days on vacation to Denver next week. Camping, botanical gardens, great food... and a 20-hour round trip car ride to look forward to. Alas, if only my I-70 experience was brightened with the soon-to-be-built KCK Buc-cee’s.
