Edward J. Dwight, Jr. was once passed over to be the first Black astronaut — now, the 90-year-old Kansas Citian is finally heading to space. He’ll orbit Earth for 11-minutes on Blue Origin’s New Shepard rocket. No launch date is set. (KCUR)

A new bar + grill is making its way to the metro: 30hop. The Iowa-based restaurant plans to serve up tacos, burgers, chopped salads, and plenty of on-tap beers in Lee’s Summit later this year, and at JoCo’s Merriam Grand Station next spring. (Kansas City Star)

Inclusive play equipment + other new upgrades are coming to Prairie Village’s Taliaferro Park.
