🎢 Come on, Barbie, let’s go party

It’s a Barbie world, and we’re all just living in it.

Remember our take on the plastic paragon’s summertime blockbuster? Now it seems Mattel heard our plea.

Come 2026, you’ll be able to step into a real life dream house at Mattel Adventure Park Kansas City in Bonner Springs. The all-new entertainment resort destination will be the second of its kind, with the inaugural Glendale, AZ location opening later this year.

Here are a few of the perks the toy giant has planned:
  • Coasters for the whole family, from the double-looping Hot Wheels Twin Mill Racer to more family-friendly rides with Thomas & Friends
  • A larger-than-life Barbie Beach House, complete with a hologram retail experience, themed flying theater, and rooftop restaurant + bar
  • He-Man vs. Skeletor Laser Tag, where guests can battle it out in the iconic Castle Grayskull
  • An 18-hole mini golf experience inspired by Magic 8 Ball, Pictionary, and other Mattel classics
Nostalgia getting to you yet? Unfortunately, you’ll have to make do with old toys and Barbenheimer rewatches for the foreseeable future. No exact date has been released, but groundbreaking is expected sometime later this year.

From the editor
This will be my first Boulevardia ever... and it looks like I picked a pretty good year to start.

The band I’m most excited to see? Post Sex Nachos. These Mizzou alums were Columbia, MO faves and the drummer is even a former classmate of mine.
