If you’ve been itching for a new staycation spot, you only have to scratch a tad bit longer. The first part of Vacation Village, Margaritaville, now has an opening date set for spring 2025.
The highly-anticipated Margaritaville resort will feature 229 guestrooms and be located at 1301 N. 98th St., Kansas City, Kansas (directly east of The Legends Outlets).
Walk through the resort and you’ll be met with design elements that harness the sea, sand, sun + sky.

After you’re done basking in the ambiance of your room, you can hop outside to soak up rays at the resort-style pool with indoor-outdoor sports, or indulge in the Margaritaville-inspired restaurant Landshark, a themed bar + grill.
The hotel also plans to have meeting, event + retail space, as well as be a family-friendly destination with plenty of activities + entertainment for all ages.
Landshark do dooo do do do doo.

Margaritaville is only one of five districts soon to be found in Vacation Village. There are also plans for:
A baseball training facility headed by Prep Baseball Report
Big Shots Golf, a $20 million golf-themed food + entertainment spot
Atlas 9, an interactive art museum-movie theater combo
A 55,000-sqft multi-sport + live music arena
Official opening dates for these four districts have yet to be announced.
The entire project is headed by Homefield KC. Co-Owner Greg Maday believes this is the development the city deserves.
“Over the years, as I drove by the defunct Schlitterbahn Waterpark on my way to Sporting KC matches, I found it upsetting that the symbol of a tragic time was still looming so large when the area around it seemed to be moving forward. The region deserved better,” Maday said.
And, soon, KCK shall have just that.

Last week we asked “Would you rather brave 100°+ weather or saunter through subzero temps?” and here’s what you said:
You’re hot and you’re cold. You’re yes and you’re no.

65% of you said 🔥 give me the heat — I was born for summer.
35% of you said ⛄ cold, please — I can always layer up.
Looks like KCtoday readers are mostly Heat Misers, with just a flurry of Snow Misers mixed in.
The heat lovers will just have to keep dreaming for now, though, as we’ve got a lot more chill coming our way.
