Holiday
  • Originally slated to nest in Overland Park, “Paulie’s Penguin Parade” will pop-up Friday, Dec. 15-Sunday, Dec. 17 at Juris Law and Meditation (430 E. Santa Fe St., Olathe, KS), beginning at 6 p.m. on Friday and at 5 p.m. Saturday + Sunday. Drive through and say hey to the penguin crew. (Shawnee Mission Post)
Opening
  • Urban Cafe is moving 20 blocks up the street to 3440 Troost Ave., KCMO. The new spot will be located on the first floor of the Roxford building and serve breakfast, lunch, dinner, and brunch. An opening date is TBA. (City Scene KC)
Transit
  • KCI wants to clear up the ground traffic. To do so, officials are considering adding another incoming traffic lane as well as another waiting lot. Serious discussions will take place in 2024. (FOX4)

  • Two groups have plans to transform Kansas City’s vacant East Side school into a mixed-use mixed-income living space. Submitted plans include 75 apartments and ~48 townhomes, with 30% of the homes reserved for lower-income residents. (Kansas City Business Journal)

  • CPKC Stadium’s press box is now officially the Grant Wahl Memorial Press Box. KC Current chose to honor the late soccer journalist and Kansas City native as a key figure in the team’s founding.

  • The Panasonic electric vehicle plant being built in De Soto, KS is on track to open in early 2025. The plant is partnering with local colleges to create programs aimed at training their new workforce. (FOX4)
