Everything you need to know about electric vehicle charging in Kansas City

It’s electric. Kansas City is on its way to an electric revolution — especially regarding electric vehicles (EV). Earlier this summer, the City of KCMO announced a roll out of new electric vehicle charging stations around the metro with Evergy’s Clean Charge Network.
These 23 new stations charge vehicles while connected to the city’s streetlight system. That means the charge relies entirely on existing infrastucture. This pilot project hopes to demonstrate the benefits of curbside charging for EVs at existing on-street parking locations.
The goal? If the pilot proves successful, the city hopes to scale EV charging and pave the way for private sector investment. In doing so, it hopes to make the transition to an EV easier for all Kansas Citians.
