$4.25 million. That’s how much renovations cost at Kansas City’s historic Folly Theater . The iconic venue’s grand reopening is Fri., Oct. 14, with fresh additions like new flooring, local art, wider seats, technological updates + more. 🎵

But first, let’s take a stroll down memory lane to remember The Folly’s impact on KC’s arts scene:

The Folly Theater opened in 1900 and is Kansas City’s only nineteenth century theater.
Throughout its 123-year history, The Folly hosted a diverse range of entertainers, from Humphrey Bogart to James Earl Jones to Yo-Yo-Ma.
The Folly was closed for demolition in 1974 until Kansas City civic leaders rallied to save the theater.
In 2018, the Folly unveiled Phase I of its capital campaign project with new orchestra lobby areas and Patrons Lounge.
