After voting for two new license plate designs in 2023 + 2024, Kansas residents can soon opt for a new blackout license plate — joining the trend seen in states like Colorado and Iowa. Starting July, the sleek design comes with a $40 one-time fee + $50 annual charge. (Kansas City Star)

They’re baaaaack. For the third year in a row, goats have returned to Berkley Riverfront to graze problematic vegetation over ~two acres east of the Town of Kansas Bridge. Visitors can watch the hooved handymen in action over the next few weeks, but save any pets for the Goat Meet and Greet on Saturday, May 31 from 9-11 a.m.
Palacana’s popsicles are getting a chic sibling. Urbana Sur — an upscale Mexican cantina from the same owners — is coming to Pennway Point in early 2026. Expect Mexico City-style tacos, tequila + mezcal cocktails, and live music, plus a walk-up Palacana stand in the back. (Kansas City Star)

Joining 230+ airports nationwide, KCI now participates in the Hidden Disabilities Sunflower Program which helps travelers who need extra time or support move through the airport more comfortably. Sunflower lanyards are available at the info desk between baggage claims 5 + 6.
