Kansas City International Dragon Boat Festival | Saturday, June 21 | 10 a.m.-3 p.m. | Brush Creek, Country Club Plaza | Free | Hosted by the Kansas City-Xi’an Sister City Committee, this annual race features drum rollers, dragon marches, and teams of rowers taking over Brush Creek.

Detox downtown. SweatHouz is bringing infrared saunas, cold plunges, and vitamin C showers to Power & Light in 2026. It’s part spa, part wellness retreat — and exactly the refresh this district’s party persona needs.
Arts
Chosen from 251 applications, meet the shortlisted artists in the running to transform Barney Allis Plaza. The major redevelopment is currently in the works, and is set to become the city’s second-largest public art investment following KCI’s new terminal.
