Whether you’re eager to learn more about different cultures across the globe without stepping foot in an airport, or you want to spend your lunch break doing something other than scrolling social media — we’ve got a pretty neat activity for you to try.

Google Arts & Culture, a digital initiative to make the world’s art and culture more accessible, has partnered with 2,000+ cultural institutions and artists to create a free online platform with high-resolution images and videos of art and artifacts.

  • Dang, it’s hot out there. The National Weather Service issued a Heat Advisory through 8 p.m. tonight for heat index values up to 110°. Impacted areas include parts of east central and northeast Kansas, plus central, north central, northwest + west central Missouri. Stay hydrated and out of the sun. (National Weather Service)

  • Kansas City leaders will break ground tomorrow, June 26, on the new Barney Allis Plaza and Garage. The street-level plaza will be designed to host community events, prioritizing “arts-focused greenspace.” We hear it’ll feature a lawn, dog park, pavilion + play space.
Biz
  • Approximately 4,000 jobs will be created as Panasonic Energy’s $4 billion EV battery facility prepares to open in De Soto, KS in spring 2025. Panasonic said recruiting + marketing efforts will roll out in the coming months and ~500 positions should be filled by the end of 2024. (The Kansas City Star)
