News Notes
Sports
  • An eventful Sunday. The Chiefs beat the Bears 41-10 yesterday, adding a dominating win to the season record. This game marked Andy Reid’s 271st win as a NFL head coach — making him the No. 4 in history for wins. Plus, Taylor Swift was in attendance.
Festival
Cause
  • The Missouri Humanities Council (MHC) awarded a $2,500 grant to The National Museum of Toys and Miniatures in support of the Marvelous Museum Manipulatives: K-12 Teacher Kits project. Each project kit includes supplies and instructions + connects to elements of social studies.
Real Estate
  • A stay at the nut factory. The Muntzel Building is now a fully renovated AirBnB in downtown Mission, but it once served the community as a peanut company in the 1950s. The four-bedroom, two-bathroom spot is at 5418 Johnson Dr. and starts at $373 per night. (Shawnee Mission Post)
Active
  • Looking for the perfect group outing for teams, coworkers, families + more? Axe the stress of party planning, and take your crew to Blade & Timber Axe Throwing instead — you’ll enjoy delicious food, drinks, and axe-throwing fun. Book your private event for the holidays.*
Health
  • A cancer diagnosis can be life-changing. However, new technology and improved treatments have helped greatly improve survival rates over the years. (Think: The overall five-year survival rate for leukemia has more than quadrupled since 1960.) See how The University of Kansas Cancer Center is helping those facing leukemia or other blood cancer diagnoses.*
Drink
  • This brand believed there was a way to take water and make it a little more perfect by infusing it with fruit essences (but none of the gross diet sweeteners, calories, or sugar). And the fruit flavors really taste like fruit. Groundbreaking. Plus, new customers get 36 bottles for $36 + free shipping.*

From the editor
This weekend was so busy — from the Plaza Art Fair to a Chiefs home game, KC was buzzing.

My favorite pit stop was Casual Animal Brewing on Friday night. Devoured did a pop-up and I had to snag a personal pizza.
