We’ve all been there. You’re too tired + lacking inspiration to chef it up on a Monday night. So you decide you’ll go out, but it seems like everything is closed.

We’re still searching for answers on why much of Kansas City’s food + drink scene shuts down on Monday nights (let us know). But in the meantime, we’ve rounded up a few options of bars and restaurants that are actually open.

Date night

BluHwy, 5070 Main St., KCMO | This restaurant offers modern American cuisine, with happy hour 2-6 p.m.

Extra Virgin, 1900 Main St., KCMO | Ditch the recipe book and bring your special someone to this Mediterranean-forward spot.

The Russell, 3141 Main St., KCMO | No reservations are needed at this home-style restaurant.

Tailleur, 3933 Main St., KCMO | The moody atmosphere at this eatery is guaranteed to make your Monday feel like a Friday.

Casual eats

Pigwich, 20 E. 5th St., KCMO, | Chow down on a sammy — we recommend The BBQ, of course.

Café Gratitude, 333 Southwest Blvd., KCMO | A perfect weeknight bite for vegan and vegetarian diets.

Filling Station, 2980 McGee Tfwy., KCMO | Editor Bella recommends The Cadillac.

Beer Kitchen, 435 Westport Rd., KCMO | This is the perfect spot for beer and barbecue lovers.

Cheers to Monday

Big Mood Natural Wines, 2020 Baltimore Ave., KCMO | Industry employees can receive 15% off their tabs on Mondays.

The Hi-Dive Lounge, 1411 W. 39th St., KCMO | Dive bars are Editor Bella’s favorite, so of course this spot with a mystery beer machine is on the list.

Yard House, 1300 Main St., KCMO | Enjoy your draft beer of choice in the Power & Light District.

Green Lady Lounge, 1809 Grand Blvd., KCMO | Listen to smooth jazz tunes while sipping on a craft cocktail.

From the editor
I can barely sleep this week in excitement for the start of the Chiefs upcoming season. What game are you most excited for this season?

As a longtime Green Bay Packers fan, I am excited to watch the Chiefs take on Aaron Rodgers and the New York Jets. Don’t worry, I’m rooting for the red and gold.
