Warehouse on Broadway is officially open in Westport — at 3951 Broadway Ave. The space will eventually hold three bars, the first being Jukebox Hero which features live music on-demand. The band knows ~180 hit songs that guests can choose from for $10+. (Kansas City Star)

117.3. That’s how many decibels rang through Children’s Mercy Park during the KC Current game on Friday, Aug. 19. Plus, the team hit another attendance record with 13,455 fans at the game. See the play that had the crowd roaring.

Now presenting: KC’s first Black arts festival. Troost Market Collective is officially partnering with the 18th & Vine Arts Festival for a three-day, inaugural event. The art will take place Friday, Sept. 29-Sunday, Oct. 1. Tickets are $10-$20.
Real Estate
Mansion alert. A historic home on Ward Parkway (1228 W. 56th St.) is officially on the market. The Hunter Gary House comes with a $10 million price tag — showcasing eight bedrooms, nine bathrooms, and it sits on three acres of land. (Kansas City Business Journal)
Cause
Following the recent fires in Maui, Hawaii, City Barrel Brewing Company is raising funds for those affected. Today through Friday, Aug. 25, the brewery is donating a portion of the proceeds from every Hawaiian Grilled Cheese to the Maui Hui Mālama Fund.
Biz
Aspiria Now, an Overland Park coworking space, is expanding its facilities. The biz added 30,000 sqft to its campus in order to make room for more private offices + dedicated work stations. (Kansas City Business Journal)
Correction
Last week we told you about the new Cascade Hotel opening at the Country Club Plaza. We may have been a little ahead of the game. The hotel will not open on Sept. 8, instead guests can expect an October grand opening, according to the Marriott website.

An all-inclusive pickleball experience is making its way to Kansas City in 2024

Meet: PickleCon. No, not the food.PickleCon is a weekend-long gathering, celebrating the sport of pickleball. The best part? It’s happening right here in Kansas City.
The event is hosted by Triple Crown Sports (TCS) and will feature space for 60+ vendors and 100+ pickleball courts. TCS offers an all-inclusive pickleball experience, designed for players of all levels and intrigue. You can expect activities such as camps + clinics, wheelchair + adaptive play, tournaments, panel discussions, and a variety of community-based events.
