Drink Up: Take a look at the best moments from KCtoday’s 2023 Drink Up Month

Editor Bella checking in. Back in May, I asked you all to tell me your favorite place for a drink, whether that be coffee, a glass of wine, or neat whiskey. You showed up big time in my inbox.

I rounded up as many of your (and our) favorite spots as I could and collaborated on drink specials, happy hours, soirees, and stories. Since Drink Up Month was so much fun, I figured we could give it one last cheers.

We started the month out strong with German bier history featuring KC Bier Co., followed by a happy hour event at the Bierhalle with the KCtoday crew. From there we headed to the West Bottoms to meet up with West Bottoms Whiskey Co. and try the KC Sour — heads up, it’s delicious.

Shifting gears, I sat down with Holly at PH Coffee to learn about the coffee industry before heading to the shop’s July pop-up experience. Keeping the coffee spirit alive, I had the opportunity to learn about life behind the counter with three baristas from Cafe Cà Phê.

History + whiskey = a necessary KCtoday feature.

To end the month, we filled our wine glasses and danced to live music at Somerset Ridge — plus, a cameo from owner Cindy Reynolds. Naturally, the wine kept on coming at Bliss Wine and Books for a happy hour featuring a special summer sangria.

We couldn’t say goodbye to Drink Up Month without a Kansas City staple: Boulevard Brewing Company. Plus, we got to see craft brewers like Servaes Brewing and Transport Brewing that keep the creativity alive throughout the month .

Not ready to say goodbye? Commemorate a month of bevs with special KCtoday Drink Up merch.

Thank you to everyone who suggested, participated, said hello, and raised their glasses with us this month. Cheers.
