KC Wine Co., 13875 S. Gardner Rd., Olathe, KS | With fun events like music bingo, sip and shop, and live bands, this winery is the perfect place to gather your group. Pssst, the frozen wine slushies are a must-try.

Amigoni Urban Winery, 1505 Genessee St., KCMO | Take a sip in the tasting room, go on a tour of the cellar, or create your own wine blend at this West Bottoms spot.

KC Wineworks, 1829 McGee St., KCMO | Check out Kansas City’s first wine-based cocktail bar, featuring a unique and rotating cocktail menu that breaks wine out of its bottle.

Weston Wine Company, 540 Main St., Weston, MO | The calendar is always popping at this winery — with events like movie trivia and murder mystery nights. Plus, try the three different tasting options.

Fountain City Winery, 1409 W. 11th St., KCMO | Try something new at this West Bottoms winery, located in a unique industrial space.

Rowe Ridge Vineyard and Winery, 11255 Leavenworth Rd., Leavenworth, KS | This vineyard is Wyandotte County’s first, with the first vines planted back in 2005. Now, you can enjoy a tasting room experience, a relaxing patio lounge, or a stroll by the vineyard pond.

  • Saint Luke’s East Hospital in Lee’s Summit is gearing up for a $52 million expansion + renovation project. This plan includes a 62,000-sqft addition to the hospital and 52,000-sqft renovation of the existing hospital. (Kansas City Business Journal)

  • Horsefeather Social, an outdoor bar located at the Loews Kansas City Hotel, is reopening for the season. Guests can head up to the seventh floor starting Wednesday, May 3.

  • The City of Kansas City is inviting you to help cleanup + beautify the city. The Great Kansas City Cleanup is on Earth Day weekend, Friday, April 21-Sunday, April 23. Volunteers can register here.
Community
  • Scenthound, a dog grooming franchise, is celebrating its new Overland Park location with an official Chamber of Commerce Ribbon Cutting. The ceremony is this Friday, April 14 at 12 p.m. — at 6519 W. 119th St.

  • The Thai Cultural Center of Greater Kansas City is joining Bamboo Penny’s to host a festival in celebration of the Thai New Year. The event at Barkley Square in Park Place was reschedule for Saturday, April 22 at 1 p.m. — featuring live music + Authentic Thai street food.

  • Only kids allowed. Lenexa’s Oak Park Commons shopping center is the potential home for Kids Empire, an indoor playground. The Lenexa Planning Commission approved the final plan for the 15,000-sqft facility, but there are no details yet on a final timeline. (Shawnee Mission Post)
