A $130 million project in Midtown will turn an abandoned hospital — at 31st Street + Baltimore Avenue — into 385 apartments. NorthPoint Development will demolish the former Trinity Lutheran Hospital starting this spring, with vertical construction starting late summer. 🏗 (CityScene KC)

Patrick Mahomes is the first quarterback in NFL history to lead the league in passing yards and win the Super Bowl — a surprising fact for sure. Simultaneously, Andy Reid now holds the best post season record ratio of all time at 0.632. He already leads the regular season ratio (0.722). (Arrowhead Pride)
Transit
The KC Streetcar is staying off the tracks during the Chiefs victory parade tomorrow. The transit service will replace the streetcars with two RideKC buses, which will run from 7th Street to 19th Street. Stops in the River Market and at Union Station will be closed. 🚌
Civic
Speaking of the streetcar, the East-West Transit Study found it would cost $600 million to build a line from the KU Medical Center to Van Brunt Boulevard. Meaning? Costs would exceed the current funding methods. The study suggests finding alternate, regional funding initiatives. (Flatland KC)

UMKC’s Board of Curators approved a proposed Healthcare Innovation and Delivery Building. The five-story project would expand medical program facilities and provide space for dentistry clinics. University leaders hope to break ground next year, finishing by May 2026. (Kansas City Business Journal)

All 264 adoptable dogs at KC Pet Project are now free, thanks to the teamwork of Chiefs defensive tackle Derrick Nnadi and ZIWI Pet Food. This is the second time Nnadi has sponsored pet fees, doing the same after the Super Bowl LIV win. 🐶

Kansas City is bringing the Lombardi Trophy back from Arizona — and if you missed the fireworks downtown KCMO, we got you. But that’s not the end of the party. It’s just the beginning.
Celebrations will culminate in a Super Bowl victory parade on Wednesday, Feb. 15. Here’s what we know about it:
Start time: 12 p.m. Route: City Market south on Grand Boulevard to Union Station At Union Station: Rally at 1:45 p.m., with views from the National WWI Museum & Memorial north lawn
City crews will begin closing these streetsTuesday afternoon (so avoid Grand Boulevard if you can). If you’re driving in to attend, we recommend using these parking resources. And based on last time, bring your walking shoes.
