Holy Brunch | Tuesday-Sunday, times vary | If the name didn’t already give it away, this eccentric eatery serves everything from Fruity Pebbles-smothered French toast to chicken Philly cheesesteaks.

HomeGrown | Daily, 6:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. | With options like coffeecake smothered in buttermilk caramel sauce and BLT salads served with Ciabatta cheese toast, this spot serves up healthy fare with big flavor.

Succotash | Thursday-Sunday, 8 a.m. to 3 p.m., Monday, 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. | It’s as if Candyland had a hip cafe known for killer drinks and eclectic digs — it’s not supposed to make sense, but it sure does tastes good.

The Farmhouse | Wednesday-Sunday, 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. | Prefer savory over sweet? This River Market spot boasts a meat-heavy menu, with locally sourced options like a Cowboy Butter KC Strip served with roasted jalapeno chimichurri.

The Phoenix | Sunday, 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. | One of the city’s oldest jazz and blues clubs serves up breakfast burritos, chicken and waffles, and unlimited coffee with a live music spectacle.

Trezo Mare | Weekends, 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. | Try the Trezo cobb or the salmon salad — they’re almost as refreshing as dining al fresco on its patio, not to mention the city skyline views.

Niecie’s Restaurant | Daily, 5:30 a.m. to 7 p.m. | Since 1985, this soul food spot has been serving up breakfast staples to KC’s early morning crowd. Our rec? The chicken fried steak, morning, noon, and night.

Billie’s Grocery | Times vary per location | Between fruit bowls and overnight oats, there’s plenty of sweet options for the health-conscious brunch-er. Just stay strong as you walk past that bakery case.

Corner Cafe | Daily, 6 a.m. to 9 p.m. | This is one of Editor Maddie’s favorites. Butter is a way of life here, and that’s fine by us — especially when the cinnamon rolls are the size of your head.
